Another bill that will hurt public education. We need to look at how we fund education and not just restructure an already broken system that will make it worse. Why is Prop. 320 a trick? It has to do with wording.AZ spends nearly 7 in every 10 dollars in the classroom, so why would it be hard to spend the 60% on "direct instruction" that Prop. 320 requires? The trick: The "direct instruction" required by Prop. 320 leaves out special education supports and therapies, counselors, nurses, librarians, math and literacy coaches, transportation, feeding kids, school sports, school safety and security, A/C, and more. While the state average for classroom spending is 68%, the average for "direct instruction" is 52%. This means districts would have to cut close to 20% of the rest of their budget in order to meet the unclear, one-size fits-all mandate of Prop 320.And if schools don’t meet it? The district’s allocation from the Classroom Site Fund — which funds teacher pay‼️ — would be slashed by 25% every year. After 4 years, it would be zeroed out, spelling devastating cuts to teacher pay and more.Don’t be fooled - vote #NoProp320 in November, Arizona! Find out more info at noon320.com ...

Why am I qualified? ………👇🏽I am currently a Clinical Manager at the number one hip and knee replacement company in the country. I am the only clinical manager in our AZ/Las Vegas branch. Most branches in the country will have two, even three. I have 24 direct reports and our branch does over $500k a day in implant sales. The reason we only have one is because of how efficient we operate and my strong performance in the role. It takes a lot of organization and strong and consistent communication to achieve success in this field. This is one of the many reasons I know I’m qualified to be in the role of QCUSD Governing Board member. 2022 National Clinical Manager of the Year#hardwork #consistency #execution #communication #qcusd ...

NEW ENDORSEMENT!! .......👇🏾This one is pretty cool. LuAnn Kenner is a teacher that I used to work with at Tempe High. Her father was part of the "Queen Creek Five". The "Queen Creek Five" are the founding fathers who led the effort to incorporate the Town of Queen Creek on September 5, 1989. My name is LuAnn Eberle Kenner and I'm proud to endorse Michael Romero for Governing Board of the Queen Creek Unified School DistrictMy father, Robert Eberle, was one of the Founding Fathers of Queen Creek back in 1989. My family grew up in Queen Creek and watched firsthand, as it grew from a single vision in the minds of those who would work tirelessly to carry that "deep rooted history and strong sense of community pride " into its amazing future of today. That pride still exists as the town continues to lead the way in East Valley growth and opportunity for the families and businesses who call Queen Creek home. Michael Romero is a proud member of this community. Having served as an educator and current businessman, he certainly understands how creating a climate of strong leadership, a culture of mutual respect, a commitment to high quality education and fiscal responsibility in our schools’ filters from the top through community, teachers, parents and students.Michael consistently demonstrates the personal qualities of supportive and respectful leadership and a strong work ethic that we value in our leaders and want to demonstrate for our children. I had the pleasure of working with Michael for many years while we were both teaching at a local high school. His personal understanding and experience with diverse school and business issues, commitment to continued and future success, professional support and strong leadership skills were exemplified in his teaching and coaching and have continued throughout his business career.Michael possesses the experience and expertise to truly understand the demands and challenges facing today's public education.I am very confident that Michael Romero will be a tremendous asset to the Queen Creek Governing Board as they carry on the historic community’s pride, dedication and commitment to the vision, growth and leadership of the future.LuAnn Eberle KennerMichael Jon Romero ...

We voted…..👇🏽It’s Brooklyns first time as an eligible voter to cast her ballot. I’m proud of her for participating in this process that is so important. I didn’t vote for the first time until I was 37. I’ve realized how important it is to vote and be engaged in our political system. I always thought politics was something that didn’t affect me but I was definitely wrong. From the air we breathe, food we eat, schools we go to, and the policies that affect everyday life are all a part of politics. I hope everyone educates themselves on this, stays open minded, and engages in dialogue to help each other understand how these issues affect each other. As a former teacher I understand what this looks like and how other students are affected. It’s important to have a proactive and consistent process to intervene early with students like this. Student learning depends on it.One Disruptive Student Should Never Derail Learning For An Entire ClassroomThis striking classroom artwork lays out a widespread pain point for American educators: lesson time, classroom routines, and peer learning repeatedly get derailed when a single disruptive student becomes the permanent center of every classroom’s focus. Every seated quiet learner loses precious educational opportunities when teachers are forced to pause planned lessons to manage repeated misbehavior.Teachers craft structured daily lesson plans covering reading assignments, vocabulary drills, group discussions, and closing check-ins to help the whole class hit grade-level learning milestones. When one student cracks jokes, ignores instructions, and disrupts group work, instructors must divert their limited energy away from teaching. Focused classmates grow bored, lose lesson context, and build mounting frustration as their own study time gets repeatedly cut short. Consistent disruptions also wear down teachers, amplifying occupational burnout that pushes skilled educators out of the public education field.Fair, dependable accountability solves this imbalance. Thoughtful intervention strategies include structured behavioral plans, parent teamwork, and targeted outside support. These measures stop one student’s outbursts from dictating the whole class’s daily rhythm. Classrooms are built to serve every enrolled student equally; respectful learning conditions let motivated kids absorb lessons, while struggling disruptive pupils receive targeted guidance to build improved classroom habits. If you are an active classroom teacher, what practical tactic works best in your space to limit disruptions and protect learning time for your whole class? ...

On the Mic with Mike ………👇🏽What is your stance on discipline? Yes please! We need discipline in our schools and classrooms. It keeps kids safe and creates an environment more conducive to learning. Discipline is different than punishment. It relies on being proactive and collaborating with students, teachers, parents, and administration to have a process to help modify unwanted behaviors. Those unwanted behaviors disrupt teachers from teaching and students from learning and that is unacceptable. Michael Jon Romero#qcusd #schoolboard #candidate #vote #discipline ...

Knocking on doors and approaching people is not an easy thing to do and is very challenging. Getting every single one of those signatures allowed me to have meaningful conversations with people in our community. If elected to Queen Creek School Board, teacher retention would be a top priority. Teacher retention has direct impact on student success. All good schools have a solid foundation of stable and supported classroom teachers. Teachers are what make up a quality school, not shiny buildings or administrative charts highlighting the schools. In 2025 QCUSD had approximately 17.5% of teacher attrition due to teachers leaving the position entirely or to another district. They are leaving for a number of reasons and some of them included increasing class sizes, decreasing support staff, less planning/prep time, and pay that doesn’t compete with other careers. As a board and a district it needs to be a top priority to keep consistency in our classrooms and retain our good teachers.
